First time playing around with an iPad

today oli dropped by and besides watching lost and ordering pizza together he showed steph and me his iPad. i absolutely love this device and mine has allready been ordered (let’s hope apple sticks to the european shipping date of the 28th of may). this is one of the slickest new devices i have seen. i am looking forward of “loosing” my eee pc and leaving my laptop at home most of the times.

i am especially interested in designing (and developing) an interactive childrens book for the iPad, so let’s hope that inbetween projects i’ll find the time (or even better a partner that wants to do this venture with me).
ok time to stop blogging and enjoy the sunshine … only 6 more days til the official ipad-shipping-date … me? apple-fanboy? i don not know what you are talking about.

ben is ripping apart our poor photo printer. just yesterday he has started to figure out that you can open the top hatch and check for “forgotten” memorycards in the usb-card-reader or try to yank out the ink-cartridges. just a couple of weeks ago i secured the paper-out-tray with a baby-safe-lock, now i also had to secure the top hatch … i mean the kiddo is only 1 year and 2 months old … this is ridiculous!

so i decided to step into the “final frontier” which is flash photography … as i do not like the harsh “standard” flash lighting, i instantly ordered a softbox to get a … well, more soft lighting
i allready configured the flash to dim it down a notch and work with rapid fire.

looking forward to the upcoming 2x weddings, 1x 40st birthday, 1x 80st birthday and the golden oldies festival in wettenberg. not to mention all the fun bbqs with kids running around this summer.

Tried moblin on my eee pc …

… and failed due to my eee being a eee 900 without an atom processor (which moblin is built for). i think i have seen some people tweak it to run on the celeron, but did not have the time to digg deeper (due to the upcoming wedding tomorow). also looking forward to the jolicloud OS.

Upgraded our GPS to a new TomTom

As our old gps-navigationsystem was an 2004 HP Ipaq with quite crashy and unreliable Navigon software i finally got us a basic TomTom. is is soooo tiny and has built in TMC. lovin it so far

“… well if you push this button, the MacPro goes to bed!” Ben is starting to get interested in all our shiny apple products, he just loves the little bright light and the big power buttons. The MacPro is timewise just a day younger than Ben. It got delivered the day after Ben got born, so they are “kind of” brothers. Ben ist mostly using him as a walking and standing aid these days, or of course to push some shiny buttons.
