Stepping into the world of baby buggys (all single people stop reading here)
08.March 2008
as the date of birth is getting closer today steph and i started looking for a suitable baby buggy solution for us. inbetween all the butt-ugly basic buggy designs we found one we liked and the store was nice enough to let us try out how the folded thing fits into our car. so we tried …
… well and as you can see, it fits … BUT as some of you know we are the kind of people that just love to throw our stuff in the car and go for a roadtrip to the coast or wherever and let’s not forget our golden retriever phoebe.
so even though we liked the cute design with red and white striped interior and all the practical stuff this was absolutely not the right stroller for us. so we got back inside and took a look at a bunch of other companys but most of them sucked especially when being folded. i mean i am a guy who is not afraid to work on cars and mechanic stuff or building something with tools but with some of those things you weren’t sure if you are folding or breaking them
so shortly before we thought we’d give up for the day we finally found the right style of buggy for us. it is very lightweight and can be folded with just one push of a button and it even fits nicely behind the passenger seat or to put in in other words occupies just a small side portion of the trunk and leaves enough room for phoebe and our luggage.
sadly enough the store did not have it in our colour/design so we tried another big baby store the next day … and guess what they had exactly our buggy with the right components (wheelbase, stroller-top and soft-bag) and also the right colour which by our choice was red. (i will spare you the details of how ugly i find most of the designs. there is still a lot of pimping to be done even with our red buggy). so instead of waiting 8-12 weeks for the baby buggy which most other people have to do because they have to order the buggy they have decided on buying we were lucky enough and could instantly take it home with us.
so forget the first picture with the big-ass-buggy and check out how small our little puppy is. oh and did i mention it weighs close to nothing! even backpain candidates like me can easily carry that thing wherever needed. “mommy” seems quite happy
and guess what … having a buggy at home makes having a baby soon somehow seem even “closer” than before. i actually like the thought of being a dad, i guess.
